So, with the rapid cooking infrared technology, the Frigidaire Professional comes with the PowerPlus Preheat and PowerPlus Convection. As a result, not only it pre-heats and cooks rapidly but also browns and cooks evenly. There are 8 pre-set cooking modes – warm, reheat, bake, broil, toast, bagel, pizza and cookies. To select the cooking mode and set the temperature/darkness and time/slices, a knob is used with a large LCD screen to display the settings.

The bake, cookies, pizza and reheat modes have a built-in convection feature which turns on the fan automatically when the respective function is selected. You have the flexibility to turn off the fan by pressing the Convection button. For the pizza function, it also has pre-set times for a 6″, 9″ and 12″ pizza.

There are 3 slots for the cooking rack but because the rack is reversible, the 3 slots can give a total of 6 different heights for optimal cooking results. The crumb tray is removable from the inside while the interior has a nonstick coating for easy clean-up. The Professional toaster oven can accommodate 6 slices of bread or a 12″ pizza at the most.

The exterior measurement of this Frigidaire Professional stainless steel convection toaster oven is approximately 17.75″ wide, 14″ deep and 11.5″ high. You will need to allow an additional one to two inch for its depth to accomodate the handle. The interior measurement is about 12.5″ (W) x 12.5″ (D). Included in the package is a cooking rack, pizza pan and bake pan.

Should You Buy The Frigidaire Professional Toaster Oven?

Pros
  1. Reaches temperature quickly – There are users who have mentioned online that it takes less than 5 minutes to pre-heat the oven. The manufacturer puts it down to 3 minutes to reach a temperature of 325°F for the convection bake function. Naturally, it will take longer if you want the oven to reach a higher temperature but by and large, this Frigidaire toaster oven runs quicker than models with conventional heating elements.
  2.  Cheap for infrared technology – There are not many toaster ovens in the market that use infrared heating. The Panasonic Flash Xpress is one but it costs about $100 just for a mini size model with limited cooking modes. The Breville BOV800XL is a 6-slice model if you want a bigger size unit but this one would set you back about $250 compared to the Frigidaire Professional which is selling for only $110 at the time of review.
  3. Many cooking options – The 8 pre-set cooking functions is more than usual for a toaster oven. For example, the DeLonghi DO2058 digital toaster oven only has 5 cooking functions. The pizza mode for the Professional model also makes it easy to switch among the 3 different sizes.
  4. Aesthetically appealing – The exterior is covered in brushed stainless steel for a sleek and modern look.
Cons
  1. frigidaire professional infrared toaster ovenGood while it lasts – There are numerous complaints on the web from buyers about this Frigidaire toaster oven being shortlived. The usual lifespan range quoted varies from a few weeks to a few months with the main problem being the heating element failing.
  2. Error code – This is another fairly common complaint that we have come across from users. The unit simply dies as an error code is shown.
  3. Crumb tray – The crumb tray is only removable from the inside. Having an external removable tray  like the Black and Decker TO3250XSB extra wide convection oven would be far more convenient.

Overall, we see the Frigidaire Professional programmable toaster oven as a high risk buy. The complaints of it failing are just too many across the web to give an adequate level of comfort that it will last at least for a reasonable period of time.

Therefore, our view is to look for something more solid and longer lasting. For instance, the KitchenAid KCO273SS convection digital countertop oven has much better customer reviews and ratings. So, skip this Frigidaire unit unless you really want a big infrared toaster oven at a more economical price.
